The ATMS guide to choosing a sex toy for women & those with a vulva

This guide has everything you need to know about choosing the best sex toy for you.

Sex toys are an amazing tool for anyone looking to explore their bodies pleasure potential. It doesn’t matter if you are playing solo or with a partner, there will be a sex toy for you.

This video is designed for women and those with a vulva as will be talking about toys that stimulate the vulva, the clitoris or the vagina. And of course, a few toys that stimulate the booty and the nipples too 😊

We’ll look at the different types of sex toys for stimulating the body, how to choose the right toy for your needs, a breakdown of different sex toys materials and how to clean and store your toys.

Do you need to use lubricant with your sex toys?

I’m a big fan of lubricant for all sexual activities, but especially for use with your sex toys. Lube is slippery, it’s smooth and it’s designed to make all kinds of sexual play feel amazing.

Using lube will reduce friction between your skin and a sex toy without reducing sensation. You will still feel everything, it will just feel even better!

Lube is ideal to help with insertion of toys if you are using internal options. But you can use lubricant for external toys too. This will create a silky surface for your toy to rub or press against and will help with the transfer of vibration or other forms of stimulation to your skin. But not all lubes can be used with all toys and using the wrong one can result in a damaged toy.

The main lubricant types are:

  • Water-based lubricant
  • Silicone lubricant
  • Oil-based lubricant
  • Hybrid lubricant
