Sleep, anxiety and nervous system regulation with Lisa Pomare at Bay Functional
Understand why sleep and anxiety change in perimenopause and menopause and walk away with practical tools to calm your body and sleep more deeply.
Wednesday 12 August
1:00pm - 1:45pm
Event description
Struggling to sleep like you used to? Waking at 2 to 3am feeling hot, wired or anxious, then dragging yourself through the next day exhausted, foggy and running on caffeine? Sleep disruption is one of the most common and frustrating symptoms of perimenopause and menopause, yet so many women are told it's just part of ageing.
What's often missed is the role of the nervous system. As hormones shift, particularly the drop in progesterone (your natural calming hormone), the body becomes more sensitive to stress. That can leave you stuck in a wired but tired state, with a busy mind, night-time anxiety and a body that struggles to switch off even when you're exhausted.
In this talk we'll unpack why sleep and anxiety change during this stage of life, from hormones to blood sugar to the nervous system, and more importantly what you can do about it. You'll leave with practical, realistic tools to calm the body, quiet the mind and support deeper, more restorative sleep, without feeling overwhelmed.
